Why
become a member of Holy Wood ?
Membership fees and donations are now fundamental to keeping this endeavor in full swing. There is a symbolic element built into a high membership fee: a decision to become members springs from recognizing a value in Holy Wood, and from a concern with helping an organization build on its foundations no matter how plain these may be thereby providing a concrete opportunity for those who believe and invest in the quest for new forms of art and life.
Every member of
Holy Wood can spend three all-inclusive days (with
a guest if desired) at the Centre; as you will no doubt have
read, the Centre is located in the hills and woodland of the Volterra
region, on the border between the Pisa and Siena regions – a place of
idyllic beauty, the nearest neighbours are several kilometres away! The
atmosphere of Holy wood is one of open conviviality – you may come and
go as you please, day and night, with no restrictions. Last (but not
least), while staying at the centre, members may take
advantage of our facilities (unless already in use for a project
or course at Holy Wood, of course):
- You may use our
computers for work or play, including email access;
- Musicians may
practice in the recording studio rooms;
- Painters and
artists may use our atelier;
- Cinema fans can
take advantage of our cinema room, complete with professional projecting
equipment, a wide range of specialized and international satellite
channels and our collection of videos and DVDs in the media library;
- Books,
documentary material, multimedia sources and musical material from the
library are available exclusively to our members – you can use them in
any way you please while at the Centre.
These four days at Holy Wood are guaranteed to all our members; for the
remainder of the year members can also take advantage of a 20%
discount on most of our services. In addition, members can claim a 20% discount on one of the courses or projects on offer at Holy Wood during the year, and the same discount on events such as concerts, exhibitions etc… and members who wish to record their music at Holy Wood can enjoy a 10% discount on the ‘Good Sounds Demo’ and ‘Good Sounds Album’ offers form the ‘Starlogos’ group and on productions that are carried out entirely at the centre. You can help Holy Wood with donations of any amount and nature: anything you feel is useful is stuff we welcome, be it technical equipment, books, musical materials, movable goods, immovables, and whatever comes along. All members and all those who make a contribution of whatever kind to Holy Wood will be informed on completed and upcoming projects. So come in and see for yourself: it will be a chance to get to know each other, gain deeper insight into the scope and aims of the project by living the undertaking from within, and work together if you so choose.
